About the Club

The Rotary Club of Shepton Mallet was once described by a guest speaker as a "traditional" Rotary Club. It is true that we are a luncheon club and chartered as Club No 1781 on 9th February 1949.

However, that does not mean that the club's members lack any will to follow the Rotary objectives of service — in the community and throughout the world. Rotarians build goodwill and peace, provide humanitarian service, and encourage high ethical standards in all vocations. The Rotary motto is:

"Service Above Self."

Our weekly meetings encourage fellowship, and from our activities we have a great deal of "fun". Please experience this from browsing this site, if you would like to find out more about Rotary and would consider becoming a member find out more by e-mailing our Club President
